Detailed Outline
Technical SEO Assessment
1. Canonical redirect (e.g. non-www to www)
2. Clear global navigation / link hierarchy
3. Flat hierarchical site structure
4. Acceptable use of flash (if any)
5. Acceptable use of JavaScript – JavaScript in include file(s)
6. Smart CSS use – CSS in include file(s)
7. Text rich web pages (keywords in plain text, not images, flash, JavaScript)
8. Label images (alt tags)
9. 301 redirects, where redirects are used
10. Unique meta descriptions for every page
11. A few meta keywords for every page (JUST a few – max 6)
12. Variable headers and titles
13. Variable initial body of content
14. Robots.txt is correct
15. Has Google sitemap file
16. Has user sitemap
17. Web Server on quality host, non-blacklisted domain, dedicated server or at least good neighbors.
18. Ensure site is not a ‘Sink’ must have some outbound links to seo or web design and content relevant outbound without risking loss of sales.
